The BEST - Bilingual European School of Turin carefully, innovatively, and effectively pursues a special and specific educational project characterized by:

1. attention to the Italian language and the development of linguistic skills and the culture of our country, central to our project;
2. importance of ensuring the development of English language proficiency at a native level;
3. development of skills and learning in all areas (History, Geography, Mathematics, Science, Logic, Art, Physical Education) that allows for a culturally complete and balanced growth;
4. increase in French language proficiency starting from the third year.

At BEST, to ensure the bilingual offer, during 35 weekly hours of lessons and extracurricular educational activities, our students follow a dual educational path in ITALIAN and ENGLISH

The various subjects in the ITALIAN AREA are addressed according to the programs of the Italian Ministry of Education

• Language-historical-geographical area
• Mathematical-scientific-technological area
• Body - movement - sport and Music, Art and Image

with an approach that prioritizes attention to the unique characteristics of each student, the free maturation of interests and curiosities, while also promoting group work and the birth and consolidation of friendships. We use proven but modern and advanced methodologies

Education in the ENGLISH AREA, in order to enable students to use it as a mother tongue, is structured:

• with "language lessons" (reading, writing, spelling…) to learn the language (as is done in schools in England)
• with "curricular lessons in English," lessons that cover various topics (mathematics, music, art, sports, history, geography, mathematics, science, technology) and are conducted in English according to progressive methods and coordinated with the lessons taught in Italian on the same subjects.

The textbooks are:

• for Italian, those indicated by the Ministry
• for English, those adopted in English primary schools

Our project includes, in addition to lessons and extracurricular educational activities in a coordinated manner many other moments and activities:

• children's library with books in English
• computer lab and education on the use of new media, coding
• curricular workshops on various topics and areas (basic chess, the philosopher of plants, cartooning, history workshops…)
• innovative physical, artistic, and musical education managed by specific professionals
• playful moments
• individual homework and preparation managed during school hours
• "light" weekend homework that can be completed in 15-30 minutes in collaboration with the family
• attention to the development of a love for free reading
• day trips
• 2-day (for the younger ones) to 4-day trips
• opportunities for inclusion stays abroad
• activities with families

as well as the possibility to participate in optional activities: sports activities, chess, music, dance…

To facilitate a smooth entry into our School for all students, some of whom have not attended bilingual kindergartens, in collaboration with the POPPY KINDERGARTEN, BEST offers the opportunity to attend the last year of preschool at the POPPY facilities (located in the same building as BEST, at Corso Trento 13).
