WORKSHOPS AND TRIPS

During the year, during school hours, workshops are organized that allow for a cross-disciplinary "exploration" of learning, areas of experience, and creative activities.

HISTORY AND ARCHAEOLOGY WORKSHOPS organized by the cultural association Nitokris.

COMPUTER LITERACY The first computer literacy and programming course dedicated to children aged 6-7, conducted with BEES, small programmable robots shaped like bees.

CODING Programming to learn: an introduction to computational thinking.

3D PRINTING For older children, a hands-on approach to technological innovations, creating and printing their own 3D projects in our computer lab.

CARTOON WORKSHOP Designing a cartoon, drawing characters with a professional cartoonist, getting close to "editing." Our short films have been participating for years in the selection of the Sottodiciotto Film Festival.

THEATER From improvisation to acting, to bring out the actor in each of us: children learn to refine their expressive skills while having fun.

CHESS 10 lessons, organized by the Turin Chess Federation, for first-grade students to introduce them to this game.

CREATIVE RECYCLING Designing, creating works, participating in the construction of a collective installation under the guidance of an artist who also exhibits at Paratissima and teaches children to have fun recycling common materials, also with a view to respecting the environment.

DEBATE A stimulating challenge between two groups of students, with predefined speaking times and a jury that declares a winner. This also happens at BEST and Best MIDDLE...

Students learn to support a thesis and counter others' in an open and respectful debate. Participants must be able to present the most appropriate arguments, respecting the assigned rules and without overpowering others. This program, reserved for older students, has various objectives:

  • Develop critical thinking
  • Refine expressive skills and public speaking
  • Know how to research sources and documents, assessing their reliability
  • Evaluate different viewpoints on the same issue
  • Collaborate and participate with peers in a responsible and constructive manner
  • Know how to assess the effectiveness and limits of others' speeches.

During the school year, outings and trips are also organized that allow for "exploration" of the world outside the school walls.

At BEST, there is always AN END-OF-YEAR TRIP: in September, each class is invited to participate in this special day, with their teachers, which is engaging and fun but also educational, designed for different age groups.

At the end of the school year, the following are specifically proposed:

  • For the FIRST GRADES, a day trip in contact with nature;
  • For the SECOND GRADES, a three-day/two-night stay at a facility in Piedmont where children engage in activities related to the forest, the wood cycle, and orienteering;
  • For the THIRD GRADES, the "Night with the Sharks" is planned, an unmissable adventure discovering all the attractions of the Old Port of Genoa and the Aquarium, which, closed to the public, dedicates an exciting visit and a night full of dreams in front of the shark tank;
  • For the FOURTH GRADES, the trip is by boat! Children will have two days of experiences on a cruise in the Po Delta and the Comacchio valleys, discovering an environment that is a UNESCO heritage site and all the surroundings where they will have multiple visits and activities;
  • For the FIFTH GRADES, a three-day trip is proposed that includes a visit to Ravenna, the mosaic cycle, the surrounding area, and navigation on an oceanographic boat (with marine biology activities and lunch on board).

At Best MIDDLE there are also outings and trips aimed at enriching the educational offer: our students visit galleries, museums, exhibitions, meet authors, participate in debates, visit art cities in a rich program designed for different age groups.

And then there are the STAYS ABROAD! The school offers stay proposals in England that are very formative experiences for students, welcomed in boarding schools among English students. The Richworth School, a beautiful facility in West Yorkshire, hosts our Best MIDDLE students for a truly inclusive stay.

And we are preparing more proposals for June, after the end of the school year... both in Italy and Switzerland, to always be alongside our Primary and Secondary School students even during the early summer periods.

Stay tuned...
